Research and Teaching Portfolio

Welcome to my Research and Teaching Portfolio!

I am a behavioral researcher and Ph.D. Candidate with interests in digital & social media marketing, immersive virtual environments, and social good. My research ranges from improving the lives of both humans and the environment to investigating the impact of the sky on our online shopping behaviors. I have presented my work at major conferences including: the American Marketing Association, the Academy of Marketing Science, the Society of Consumer Psychology, and the Allied Academies International Conference.

I taught Digital Marketing at the University of South Florida and I'm currently the Senior Coordinator for the Center for Marketing and Sales Innovation. Prior to entering the Ph.D. program, I worked in the financial services industry where I developed and implemented digital marketing campaigns to generate business development opportunities and awareness. I am also intimately involved in managing the digital marketing for both small and large family businesses. I hold a M.S. Marketing from the University of Denver and a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Tennessee Knoxville.

My dissertation titled, "Improving Environmental Protection: One Imagined Touch at a Time" addresses a growing issue faced by marketers and wildlife officials. Research shows that encouraging interaction with wildlife will encourage consumers to care more for the environment, however, wildlife officials are concerned that interaction between humans and wildlife is harmful as it disrupts the wildlife’s natural behavior and habitat. I help resolve this tension by providing both sides with a safe alternative utilizing haptic imagery that helps them achieve their mutual goal, protecting wildlife from human touch while encouraging environmental protection. My research opens the door for future research in haptics by bridging biodiversity conservation and marketing.
